The exhibition of students from the Studio of Ceramics and Porcelain at the AAAD (Academy of Art, Architecture and Design) in Prague presents a selection of two assignments that the students worked on in 2024 - the Porcelain Room and Happiness.
Porcelain Room
The "Porcelain Room" is a landscape that never existed. Though made up of artifacts from the real world, it creates an unreal dream of distant lands and their mythical wealth. What is revealed to us in this space?
The winter semester assignment worked with a specific historical reference to a porcelain room, which serves as a conceptual framework for reflecting on social phenomena, historical technologies, and objects associated with it.
Happiness
The power of an artwork is inseparably connected to the experience of happiness or joy arising from the transformation of subjective perception into a shared experience. A specific form of joy is thus present in any form of artistic production.
In the summer semester of 2024, students were invited to reflect in their work on how artistic/craftsmanship pieces become tools for sharing this form of happiness.
